Carl Axel Johnson
Carl Axel Johnson, aged 85 years of Moose Jaw, SK, passed away on Sunday, March 25th, 2012. Carl was born on March 3rd, 1927 on a farm in the Dunkirk, SK area. He worked for C.P. Rail from 1949 to 1986. Carl married Marion in 1959 and lived happily until her death in 1994. He never remarried and lived on his own until poor health forced him to live at Chateau St. Michael’s and then at Extendicare. He was predeceased by his wife, Marion; parents, Axel and Signe Johnson; brother, Hilding; sisters, Martha and Bertha; and step-daughter, Shirley. Carl is survived by his children: son, Doug (Darlene) and daughter, Debbie; and Marion’s children from her first marriage: Anne, Gary and Ron (Fran). A Graveside Service will be held on Thursday, March 29th, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. in Rosedale Cemetery. Those wishing to attend are asked to meet at the cemetery gates by 10:50 a.m. Pastor Bill Cantelon will officiate and a private family gathering will be held at a later date. A Time of Visitation for Family and Friends will be held on Wednesday, March 28th, 2012 from 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. in Moose Jaw Funeral Home. A heartfelt thanks to all who cared for Dad these past years. In lieu of flowers, donations in Carl’s name may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Sask., 279 3rd Ave. N., Saskatoon, SK S7K 2H8.
