Eldred Maxwell Jerrett

Eldred Maxwell Jerrett, aged 77 years of Moose Jaw, SK., passed away on Friday, October 9th, 2020.  Eldred was born March 8th, 1943 in Cavendish Trinity Bay, Newfoundland to Robert Jerrett Sr. and Beatrice Butcher.  Eldred was a painter by trade, from a very young age and into his golden years.  He loved music, with Buddy Holly being his main music idol, and playing the guitar and was a very talented singer and musician.  Eldred was a big part of a lot of people’s lives and contributed to different organizations through the years.  He, along with the band, Jacksonville, raised money for the Moose Jaw Food Bank and the Moose Jaw Health Foundation. He also played to raise funds for Africa and many other community organizations.  Eldred loved watching hockey, fishing, cooking, and jamming with friends and quality time with loved ones.  He especially loved to spoil his fur baby, Dexter, whom he gave a lot of love and attention too.  Eldred was predeceased by his mother and father Robert Sr. and Beatrice, brothers: Marshall, Bob Jr., and Jack; sister, Judy; special niece, Tina and ex-wife, Debbie.  Eldred along with his late wife, raised three children: daughter, Amanda (with daughter Dusty-Rose); son, John (with children Megan, Kaylee and Brennan); and daughter, Sheryl-Lynn (with children Jacie, Summer, Marley, Holly, Drew, Avril and Ire); sister, Joyce (with children Kevin, Kit and Michael); brothers, Ches and Rick as well as nieces and nephews and a long list of friends.  His family was his life, and he loved his grandchildren more than words can say.  He will also be missed by good friends, Christina and Brian Lawrence.  Al was loved by many and will be missed by all. Due to the current health restrictions, a Celebration of Eldred’s Life will be announced at a later date. Arrangements are entrusted to Moose Jaw Funeral Home, 268 Mulberry Lane.  Gary McDowell, Funeral Director 306-693-4550.

To Eldred’s Family: Your NL family would like to extend our sincere condolences on your sad loss. I recall the time Eldred left the province of his birth in 1965 & to my knowledge never returned but I know his NL roots were always close to his heart. I often wish my children could have enjoyed their gift of music with their uncle. Today thanks to social media we are able to keep in touch with the next generation and even though we haven’t met we have a family connection across the miles. May all your wonderful memories bring you comfort. Sending all our Love, Ann Jerrett & children, Angela, Tina, Jason & Jeffrey, Grandchildren, Colin, Nathan, Amelia, Charlotte & Brooklyn.
