Thomas James
Thomas James – December 11th, 1927 – January 2nd, 2011. Tom passed away at home after battling cancer for almost two years. Tom will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his wife Joyce of 59 years, daughters Gail James and Shannon LaBuick (Roy); grandchildren Robert, Geoffrey and Tylee; Sister Nellie Clubbe (Doug); Sister In-law Flora James; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Tom was born at Webb, Saskatchewan. He grew up and spent most of his time in the Chaplin area where he was actively involved in the community – coaching and refereeing hockey/baseball in his younger years. He was always there to lend a hand with community, school and 4-H projects or to help a friend or neighbour. Tom was employed with Saskatchewan Minerals for 41 years and worked at the Chaplin, Fox Valley and Bishopric plants. Tom enjoyed gardening, fishing, going for his daily walks with his dogs (Mick and Simba) and teasing his grandchildren. He looked forward to and enjoyed his daily trips to the Co-op for coffee. A special thank-you to: Blaine Kinneberg for his help; Eric Siebeneich for taking Dad for coffee; Dr. Jancewicz, Nurse Mary, Nurse Leah and the other nurses at the Allen Blair Cancer Clinic; Deidre, Nurse Marie and the others with the Five Hills Health Region Home Care aides and nurses and Dr. Thorpe. A Funeral Service will be held at Moose Jaw Funeral Home on Saturday, January 8th, 2011 at 2:00 pm. As per the family’s wishes there will be No Visitation. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Five Hills Palliative Care Program – Financial Services, Five Hills Health Region, 445 Fairford St. E., Moose Jaw, SK S6H 1H3 or Moose Jaw Humane Society – Box 1658, 1775 Stadacona St. W., Moose Jaw, SK S6H 7K7.
