Lionel John Gordon Jago
It is with deep sorrow the family of Gordon Jago announce his passing on Sunday, August 19th, 2018 at the age of 70. Gord was born on June 5th, 1948 in Edmonton, Alberta, and graduated with a B.Ed. and B.PE from the University of Alberta. He had a passion for teaching and coaching, and spent his career working in elementary, high school, and special education programs. Gord had a zest for life that was unmatched. He exuded positivity and optimism even through his most critical health challenges. He found strength in a quiet, strong, unwavering faith in the Lord and this sustained him over the years. He had a sharp mind, loved music and sports, but most of all he loved people: whether a neighbour, an old friend, or an acquaintance he just met, Gord welcomed everyone with the same warmth and kindness. Gord is lovingly remembered by his wife Terry; children Kyle Jago, Erika Chow (Kyle) and Braden Jago (Marsha); grandchildren Eliza, Abigail and Rebekah Jago; sisters Shirley (Clayton) Fordice and Kim Jago (Dan Szakacs); sisters-in law Lorna Jeffrey and Marian Makarewich (Max); as well as many beloved nephews, nieces, and extended family. Gordon was predeceased by his parents Robert and Doris Jago; Terry’s parents, Dorothy Dokken, Earl Dokken and Marie Dokken; infant children Kenna, Graeme and Devon; brothers-in-law Cliff Jeffrey and Don Bigelow, and nephew Adam Larratt. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Friday, August 24th, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. in Victory Church, 637 Main St. North, Moose Jaw, SK. with Pastor Dan Godard officiating.
