Carol Ingold
Carol passed away peacefully at home with her husband and family at her side on Saturday, November 14, 2009 at the age of 74 years. She was born December 31, 1934 on the Leitner family farm near Spring Valley, Sk. She attended the nearby Artesian School. She met her future husband Walter in the summer of 1951. Carol and Walter were married on April 9, 1953 in Winnipeg, Mb where they lived a short while before moving to Windsor, Ont. There, their son, the first of four children was born. Within the year they were drawn back to Saskatchewan where they finally settled in Moose Jaw. Here they had the three daughters. Because in the early years Walter’s work, trucking, took him away from home for many days at a time, Carol needed to be capable to handle many tasks around home while raising four children. She was good at what she did. She had a gift for gardening and enjoyed cooking, baking, and canning. Carol also enjoyed music and reading. She devoted many years to her church choir. Some of the most remembered travels with Walter were to Austria and Alaska. Playing cards with friends and family was always fun. Carol graciously gave many hours over the years babysitting her grandchildren, reading and playing games with them. Carol and Walter were included as part of every family celebration. Carol is survived by her loving husband of 56 years, Walter; one son Richard (Helen), their children Alyssa (Jared) Robinson, Colette (Jamieson)Newhouse, Leah, James, Thomas, Gena, Kayla, Emma, Matthew; three daughters, Elaine (Rob) Baird – Regina, their daughter Lindsay (Mark) Otterson; Karen (Karl) Carson – Calgary, Karen’s daughter Tanita, and step-son Kirk ; Faye (Ray) Strelesky – Minneapolis, USA, their sons Ryan and Tyler; sister Eva Kiss – Edmonton; step brother Norbert (Karin) Musser – Austria. She was predeceased by her parents John (1998) and Johanna (1955) Leitner, step mother Anna (2005), brothers Joseph (1934), Alois (2006) and sister Agnes (1980).
