John “Don” Hunter
John “Don” Hunter, born on July 18th, 1931 in Courval, SK, passed away after a courageous battle with lung disease, surrounded by his loving family, on Sunday, June 10th, 2012 at Providence Place. In keeping with Don’s wishes, a Private Family Service will be held. He was predeceased by his parents, Clifford and Mary; brother, Jim and sister, Bev. Don is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Lorraine (neé Beechinor); children: Brad (Shirley) of Calgary, AB, Kerri (Les) Allan of Medicine Hat, AB, Blair (Tammy) of Estevan, SK and Joel (Shannon) of Calgary, AB; 15 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his sisters, Anne Smith and Mary Allen; brothers-in-law, Ed and Don Beechinor and numerous nieces, nephews and friends. Special thanks to the staff at the Moose Jaw Union Hospital, Extendicare and Providence Place for all the love and special care Dad received during his illness. In lieu of flowers, donations in Don’s name may be made to the Providence Place Healing Gardens Fund, 100 – 2nd Ave. N.E., Moose Jaw, SK S6H 1B8.
