James (Jim) O. Hunter
James (Jim) O. Hunter, aged 83 years of Riverhurst, SK, passed away on Thursday, July 9th, 2015 at the Moose Jaw Union Hospital with his sister by his side. Jim lived on the family farm located at Riverhurst, SK all of his life. Taking over farming from their father, he proudly farmed the family land along with his brothers Bert and Bruce through 49 harvests. His love of the land kept him living on the farm. Jim is survived by his sister, Mary Nash and his nieces, Alison (Wade) Langin (Braeden and Keon) and Holly Loewen (Emma); as well as many close friends and neighbors. He will be fondly remembered by many as a man of integrity and generosity. He was a true friend and neighbor, willing to help whenever needed. Many happy hours were spent with family and friends retelling old time stories with great accuracy and humour. Many heartfelt thanks go to the doctors, nurses and other staff who cared for Jim during his time in hospital. A Graveside Service will be held on Wednesday, July 15th, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. in Riverhurst Cemetery followed by a time of fellowship and remembering at the Riverhurst Community Hall. In lieu of flowers, donations in Jim’s name may be made to the Salvation Army, 175 – 1st Ave NE, Moose Jaw, SK S6H 0Y9. Arrangements are entrusted to Moose Jaw Funeral Home, 268 Mulberry Lane.
