Edwin Bruce Hunter
March 10, 1939 – May 15, 2010
Bruce passed away at age 71 at home with family by his side after a long struggle with cancer. Bruce was predeceased by his parents Florence and Albert, parents-in-law Dorothy and Roy Tingley, sister Verna May, and brother Bert. Bruce is survived by his brother Jim; sister Mary Nash (Gordon); nieces Alison Langin (Wade) and Holly Loewen (Michael) and their children: Braden, Keon, and Emma; special cousin Marjorie Burlack (Nick); his loving wife of 32 years Vera; step children: Brian Swanson (Cheryl), Don Swanson (Diana), Joyce Swanson and Karen Gogan with grandchildren, Rachel, Natalie, Aaron, Kenda, Annie, Leah, Anthony and the apple of his eye Tyler; brother-in-law Bill Tingley (Lily) and sister-in-law Elaine Burkholder (George). Bruce farmed in the Riverhurst district for over 50 years in partnership with his brothers Jim and Bert. Bruce loved the land and farming. He was a talented wood worker, crafting many beautiful pieces of furniture. Together Bruce and Vera shared many fond memories of winters recently spent on Vancouver Island. A Celebration of Bruce’s Life will be held on Thursday, May 20th, 2010 at 1:30 p.m. in Moose Jaw Funeral Home with Pastor Bill Thomson of Trinity United Church officiating. Interment will follow at Rosedale Cemetery. Visitation for family and friends will be held from 10:30 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. prior to the service.
