Gerald Allan Howes
Gerald Allan Howes of Moose Jaw, SK, passed away suddenly on Tuesday, July 23rd, 2013 at the age of 80 years. Gerald was born on August 13th, 1932 in the Old Wives District to Garnet and Abbey Howes. He was the oldest of the three boys. He attended Piety Hill, Don Jean and Peacock School. Gerald married Mabel on June 1st, 1962 and enjoyed 50 years together. They moved to ranch at Old Wives in 1964. Ranching, horses, livestock and animals of any sort were his life, his hobby, his passion and that is all he wanted to do for his 80th birthday, was to go for a ride and he did. He was predeceased by his wife, Mabel (March 2013); parents, Garnet and Abbey Howes; brother, Harris; parents-in-law, Jean and Archie Lynds; brothers-in-law: Ron Lynds, Ken Lynds, Arnold Field and Reg Sedman; and sister-in-law, Mary Powell. Gerald is survived by his daughter, Ronda (Doug) Thul; son, Bill (Lori) Howes; grandchildren: Tyson (Brooke) Thul, Tianna Thul, Karley and Shelby Howes; brother, Barry (Barb) Howes; sisters-in-law: Olga Howes, Elaine Field, Alice Sedman, Bettijean Lynds and Rolanda Lynds; brothers-in-law: Elwood Lynds, Melvin (Eleanor) Lynds, Vern Lynds and Duane Powell; as well as many nieces and nephews. A Celebration of Gerald’s Life will be held on Sunday, July 28th, 2013 at the Ranch at 3:00 p.m. Bring your lawn chair and join us for a barbeque after. Flowers are gratefully declined.
