Donna Hojenski
Donna went to her heavenly home on Thursday September 9, 2021.
She was a wonderful Daughter, Loving Mother, Donny, Great Grand-Donny, Auntie, and friend who will be dearly missed.
Donna grew up in Chaplin and moved to Moose Jaw as a young woman. She worked at the Bank of Montreal for over 30 years before retiring. She loved her job and all the friends she made while working there.
She loved to surround herself with family and friends for any occasion and threw the best parties – with her favourite being the Christmas Eve suppers she would cook for everyone.
Some of her favourite pastimes were bowling, playing slow pitch, watching her favourite team The New York Yankees, and watching curling. She loved playing the piano and said a piano made a house a home.
She was kind and generous with a big smile that would light up a room. She always thought of others before herself and got the most joy from giving to others.
Donna was predeceased by her parents Wesley and Bertha Coates. Her brothers Albert, Roy and Glen and sister Agnes and her sisters-in-law Doris, Hazel, and Jean.
She will be loved always and sadly missed by her daughters Debbie (Dan) and Darcia; Grandchildren Courtney (Dave) and Matthew (Tereza); her Great Grandchildren Ellie, Jolie and Clark; her brother Dennis, and many nieces, nephews and friends.
A Celebration of Donna’s Life will be held on Tuesday, September 14th, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at Moose Jaw Funeral Home. Pastor Doug Shepherd will officiate, and a private family interment will follow. Those unable to attend are invited to view the service virtually by going to www.moosejawfuneralhome.com/

Debbie and Darcia, Tim and I send our heartfelt condolences to you and your families on your Mom’s passing. We know that the past few years were challenging, not the least of which because of the complications from COVID on your ability to spend time with Donna in person. While timing doesn’t permit us or my Dad to be with you in person, you are in our thoughts and we will be there virtually.
Your Mom was always generous to me with her time and caring ways,
Tammy
Debbie and family, I am so sorry to hear of your mom’s death. I hope all the memories of this great lady keep you laughing and remembering her great spirit.
Debbie & Darcia – Condolences on the passing of your mom. I worked with Donna at Moose Jaw branch back in the late 70’s early 80’s and yes the parties were great.
Debbie & Darcia,
Mike & I were very sad to hear of your moms passing. We spent some wonderful times together when we lived in Moose Jaw. Please know that you and your families are in our thoughts and in our prayers during this difficult time. May God bless you all.
Debbie, Darcia & family
It was with great sadness to hear of your Moms passing. I remember the good times spent together over a cup of coffee and a good chat but especially every July a birthday party was held at your Grandma Coates house for all of us that had birthdays in July. My thoughts and prayers be with you at this difficult time.
Debbie and Darcia, so sorry to hear of Donna’s passing. We had some good times together at the bank when I lived in Moose Jaw. May she Rest In Peace.
