IDA WINNIFRED JONES HOFFMAN
Winnifred Hoffman passed away peacefully on June 23rd, 2010 at the Moose Jaw Union Hospital with her daughter by her side. A Funeral Service will be held on Sunday, June 27th, 2010 at 2:30 p.m. in Moose Jaw Funeral Home with Reverend Marilyn Keerak officiating. Burial at Rosedale Cemetery will take place at a later date. “Winnie” was born April 6th, 1927 in Lucky Lake, SK. to Harold and Audrey Jones. She lived the first 3 years of her life in Regina Red Cross Hospital, then with her Grandma and Grandpa Gaddy in White Fox until she was about 7. Winnie took her schooling at Valley Ford, near Lucky Lake. Winnie loved singing and harmonizing with her sisters while her Dad played the violin. She also enjoyed curling with her best friend Claire, dancing, and loved her Bingo playing and played up until about 5 years ago. Her best moments were spending time with family, especially the grandchildren. She met and married Herb Hoffman in 1948. They lived in Lucky Lake, Plenty, Anglia, Verandrey, Richlea, Naicam and Moose Jaw. Winnie was the Postmistress at Richlea for 20 years. Winnie was predeceased by her parents and siblings Vivian, Billy, Walter and Helen. She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Herbert; 2 brothers, Darold (Bev) and Earl; 2 sisters, Marge and Carol (Sonny); son Kenneth Hoffman (Julie); daughter Kathy Briggs (Ray); six grandchildren, Dwayne (Leah), Daryle, Karen (Wayne), Renata (Mike), Ryan (Allison) and Chris (Jeannette); seven great-grandchildren, Shayna, Brayden, McKenna, Payton, Charlie, Bailey and Gage; and numerous nieces and nephews.
