Matilda Hirsekorn

Matilda Hirsekorn, late of Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan, passed away on June 22 nd, 2007 at Pioneer Lodge at the age of 92 years. A graveside service will be held at the Etomami Cemetery on Tuesday, June 26 th, 2007 at 1:00 p.m. Matilda Hirsekorn was born February 9 th, 1915 in Yorkton, Saskatchewan, and passed away at Pioneer Lodge in Moose Jaw on June 22 nd, 2007. Matilda married Bill, November 13 th, 1938 and homesteaded in Erwood. In 1947 they moved to Etomami where they farmed until Dads passing in November 1993. Mom continued to live on the farm until the winter of 1999 when she moved to Riverhurst, Saskatchewan to be near her daughter and son in law, Shirley and John Schmidt. Shortly after, she was moved to Capilano Court in Moose Jaw due to health reasons. She resided happily until she broke her hip, and following surgery was moved to long term care at Pioneer Lodge. Matilda was predeceased by her seven brothers: Dan, Rudolf, Alex, Adolf, William, Chris, and Louis; and son in law John. She is survived by her daughter Shirley; grandchildren Rob and Sherry of Regina, David of Saskatoon, Beth and Gerald Gane of Virden, Manitoba; great grandchildren Dusty and Todd Bender, Justin (Tara) and Jaclyn Gane.
