Albert “Frank” Hill
Albert “Frank” Hill passed away suddenly in Moose Jaw Union Hospital on Tuesday, November 6th, 2012 at the age of 87 years. A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, November 9th, 2012 at 1:30 p.m. in the Salvation Army Citadel, 2 Wintergreen Dr., Moose Jaw, SK. Pastor Marvin Seaborg will officiate. Frank was born December 11th, 1924 to George and Lily Hill in Moose Jaw, SK. Frank joined the Navy at 17 years of age and then worked briefly at SaskTel, where he met telephone operator Lois Ritchie. They were married on September 3rd, 1949. In 1952, he became a proud member of the Moose Jaw Fire Department, working there until his retirement in 1984. He was predeceased by his loving wife, Lois; parents, George and Lily Hill; brothers: George, Roland, Freddie, Philip, Sydney, Walter and Alfred; sisters: Muriel Fissel, Margaret Boys and Whilemina Longmire. Frank is survived by his daughters, Janet (Bob) Lowe and Gay (Lloyd) Vangen; grandchildren: Lee (Cori) Vangen, Travis Vangen (Donna Hoffman), Adam (Stacy) Vangen, Stacey (Dan) Holman, Katie (Joe) Blondeau and Charlie Lowe; 10 great-grandchildren; brother-in-law, Fred Longmire and sister-in-law, Kae Hill. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends, summers at the lake, boating, fishing, golfing and hunting. In lieu of flowers, donations in Frank’s name may be made to the Providence Place Foundation Inc. for McGuire Center, 100 – 2nd Ave. N.E., Moose Jaw, SK S6H 1B8.
