Kelvin ”Kel” Hicks
It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother and uncle Kelvin ”Kel” Hicks on Wednesday, November 4th, 2009 at the age of 50 years. A private graveside ceremony will be held at Sunset Cemetery. Pastor Marvin Seaborg will officiate. A Celebration of Kel’s Life for family and friends will be held on Monday, November 9th, 2009 from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. in Moose Jaw Funeral Home. Kel was predeceased by his son Ryan, his father and mother James and Marjorie Hicks, and his mother-in-law Stella Smith. He is survived and will always be loved by, his wife of 28 years Glenda; his childrenAmanda (Matt), Tianna, Dylan (Karli); grandchildren Mikaya and Rhylan; brothers Dennis (Kris) and Ivan (Sheila); father-in-law Cam Smith; in-laws Rhonda (Scott), Mona (Barry), Cory (Coralie); nieces and nephews Clint, Scott (Virginia), Jerrod, Kent, Andrea (Glen), Kelly (Janessa), Reily (Ryan), Austin, Dallas and Ella; great nieces and nephew Tierra, Colby and Mia; along with numerous other relatives and chosen family members. Born in Moose Jaw on October 9th, 1959, Kel attended Eastleigh and Coderre Schools. Upon graduation, Kel started employment with Sask Wheat Pool (Viterra) and was a hard working, dedicated employee for 32 years until his passing. Kel was very passionate about sports, especially curling and fastball. When Kel was not active with his own sports, he would be coaching and supporting his children in all of their sports and activities. He was so proud of all of their accomplishments. His two grandchildren were his pride and joy. His Mikkydoo (Booboo) and Little Man, held a very special place in his heart. Kel had a soft spot for all animals and will be greatly missed by his special companions. His free time was spent keeping his yard perfectly groomed. Kel was a loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather. He was a pillar of strength and touched all our lives. He will never be forgotten and will be forever loved.
