Wayne Steven Heshka
It is with great sadness that the family of Wayne Steven Heshka announce his passing on Monday, January 12th, 2009. The Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, January 17th, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. in Hillcrest Apostolic Church with Pastor Bill Thomson of Trinity United Church officiating. Beloved husband, father, son, brother, brother-in-law, uncle and friend, he was born on June 14th, 1948 to Steve and Elsie Heshka. Wayne was predeceased by his father Steve in 1991. He will be lovingly remembered by his mother Elsie, his wife Maria, son Dillan, a brother John, sisters Bev(Don) Magdalinski and Cheryl Morin, father-in-law Gene Thul, brothers-in-law Jim Thul and Bob (Cheryl) Thul, his good “Pal” Dennis Chamberlain and close family friend who helped care for him at home Ev Belec, many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Wayne “Wiener” had many talents. He faced challenges head on and could always “make it work”.. He attended school at Empire, Riverview and Peacock. He was employed by STI in 1967 as a trades helper in Instrumentation, earned his Teaching Certificate and was a Cooking Instructor at the time of his retirement in July of 2007. His true passion was helping others. He was knowledgeable and talented in all areas of construction and took great pride in a job well done. He was always willing to give advice to anyone who asked. His kindness, generosity and “dry wit” will be missed by many. The family would like to thank Home Care for their compassion and their kindness – Michelle, Marie and especially Janet LaLonde his own nurse, for the kind and gentle hands-on care she gave him at his home. We would also like to thank Moose Jaw Funeral Home for their compassion and direction, particularly James Murdock, Jeff Ofstie and Judi. “Wiener we will miss you deeply and you will always be in our hearts.” For those who wish to do so, donations in Wayne’s name may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
