ARTHUR CYRIL HEISLER
September 2nd, 1933 – April 22nd, 2016
It is with heavy hearts that we announce Art’s sudden passing on Friday, April 22nd, 2016. He was predeceased by his parents, Mary Ellen and George; siblings: Leo (Nancy), Earl (Evelyn), Vi (Buck) Walchuk, Vera, Pat (Norma), Evelyn (Bill) Stadnick, Larry, George, Marie (Ron) and Loretta (Bob). He was also predeceased by his dear grandsons, Ryan and Dylan; and nephew, George McDonald. Art leaves to mourn, his wife of 46 years, Irene; sons, Kelly (Rose) of Regina, SK and Terry (Shelley) of Moose Jaw, SK; son and daughter, Ken and Shelan of Regina; sisters-in-law, Phyllis and Jean Heisler; as well as many nieces and nephews. He also leaves his grandchildren who he loved dearly: Jenna and Justin Heisler of Moose Jaw, SK, Chris Carman of Pilot Butte, SK; Shaun Carman of Ottawa, ON and Sheridan Ethier of Ottawa, ON. Art left home at age 17 and worked at Froeschl & Heisler for a short time, then took his apprenticeship in bricklaying. He worked on many projects all over Saskatchewan, BC and Alberta. The last project he worked on was Providence Place, after which he retired in 1995. In retirement, he golfed and was a gem at making jams, pickles, relishes and tasty muffins. He also enjoyed gardening and flowers. Art had a keen sense of humour and could be a tease at home. Art enjoyed working with the guys. We will all miss him dearly. A Time of Fellowship for Family and Friends will be held on Saturday, April 30th, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. in the Harvey Room at Moose Jaw Funeral Home. A private family interment will be held in Rosedale Cemetery with Reverend Doug Shepherd officiating. Flowers are gratefully declined. As an expression of sympathy, donations in Art’s name may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Saskatchewan, Unit 26 – 1738 Quebec Ave, Saskatoon, SK S7K 1V9. Arrangements are entrusted to Moose Jaw Funeral Home, 268 Mulberry Lane. Todd Sjoberg, Funeral Director 306-693-4550
