Lori Colleen Heagy
Surrounded by her family and pug dogs, Lori Colleen Heagy (née: Carpentier) of Moose Jaw, SK was taken by the angels to be with the Lord on Tuesday, April 30th, 2019 at the age of 62 years. She was predeceased by her mother and father, Mable and Louis Carpentier; and brother, Randy Carpentier of Moose Jaw, SK. Lori will be deeply missed by her loving partner, Larry Cochrane; her children: Angela (Patrick, Victoria, Joshua) of Cochrane, AB and Justin (Laura, Emily) of Moose Jaw; and stepson, Dallas of Moose Jaw. Lori will be especially remembered by her brothers: Dalhas (Nancy), Dwight (Heather), and Ronnie (Val); sisters, Lynn (Pat) and Kim (Tim); as well as many nieces and nephews including Nicole, Corby, Tyler, Kristin, Michelle, Jason, Julie, Crystal, Danny, Amber, Tina, and Tasha. Lori was a beautiful, loving, empathetic woman with as much spirit and fire as her beloved Arabian horses. Her ability to listen, empathize and offer healing words of compassion and understanding was unparalleled with those that knew and loved her. Her life revolved around caring for and supporting not only the people in her life, but also with her love of animals. Her love for horses never dulled, and she spent much of her youth engaging with, riding and eventually training and showing horses. With envious talents, Lori loved to be surrounded by beautiful flowers and butterflies while embracing her gardening hobby, pencil sketches of people and animals that could rival Robert Bateman, and most of all making people laugh with her impersonations and witty sense of humor. When her health began to challenge her ability to ride horses, she transferred her energies into being a caregiver for her youngest brother Ronnie, and nurturing a love for Pug dogs – especially her loyal pug Bhambi who was a source of peace and comfort for her throughout her battle with lung cancer. The family would like to thank the staff at Moose Jaw Palliative Care for their tender and loving support, with a special thanks to Pat, Lisa, and Kathy whose knowledge, support, kindness, and compassion made a huge impact in all of our lives. The Funeral Service will be held on Friday, May 3rd, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. in Moose Jaw Funeral Home with Reverend Jim Tenford officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations in Lori’s name may be made to Heartland Hospice, Box 334, Moose Jaw, SK S6H 4N9 to help fund palliative care. Arrangements are entrusted to Moose Jaw Funeral Home, 268 Mulberry Lane. Michelle Surtees, Funeral Director 306-693-4550.
