Kayla was born on September 12, 1988, to her loving parents Darryl Neal and Lori Scott. Kayla came into this world fighting for her life. Kayla was born at the Regina General hospital. Each surgery was successful in giving Kayla a better quality of life. Kayla would spend the next 35 years fighting everyday of her life and living life to the absolute fullest.
Kayla will be remembered for her love for life. Kayla’s life revolved around her family and friends. Kayla’s friends became part of our family. If you knew Kayla, she was unapologetically herself and lived life on her terms. Kayla had a love for horror movies. Especially Chucky. But most of all Kayla’s love for her family was everything. Kayla was always up for having family suppers, Christmas get togethers, family reunions and BBQ’s. Her family will miss her dearly but have promised to keep these traditions going in memory of Kayla.
Kayla and Caleb met as children and dated briefly in their adolescent years and remained in contact. Caleb and Kayla reconnected as adults, and their relationship blossomed from there. Caleb and Kayla were married on July 2, 2022. Kayla became a loving stepmother to Brooke and Lucas. Kayla loved everyone’s children whether it be cousins, nieces, nephews and her friends’ children. Kayla will be forever missed for her infectious laugh, bubbly personality and quirkiness.
Kayla was predeceased by her grandparents, Beverly Ann Neal and Ray Neal (Marlene); grandfather, Chris Richter; uncles: Kevin and Doug Neal, and Donnie Cole. Kayla is survived by her loving husband, Caleb Hartley (Brooke, Lucas); Grandmother ‘Baba’ Stella Richter; her loving parents, Darryl (Michele) and mother Lori; in-laws; Merv and Brenda; brother, Jason Scott (Sarah-Jo) Hunter, Ainsley; brother, Collin Scott, Lilly; and stepsister, Natasha Connolly (Dean), Colby, Khloy; stepbrother, Cory Connolly (Sabrina), Dylann, Brantley; and sister-in-law, Rebecca (Devon).
