KURTIS GEORGE HARROWER
May 23rd, 1987 – July 26th, 2021
It is with great loss that the family of Kurtis Harrower announces his passing on Monday, July 26th, 2021 after a lifelong battle with heart disease.
Kurtis was born in Moose Jaw, SK as the second child of Mark and Beverley. Despite surgeries on his heart as a child, Kurtis happily grew up alongside siblings Amanda and Kyle. They spent time camping (in the rain), making numerous trips to the Regina Waterslides, playing at every playground in town, and tearing up the East Side. They grew up sharing mutual friends who have become family.
Kurtis attended Prince Arthur Elementary School and Peacock Collegiate. During high school, he was a huge gaming nerd. Through mutual friends he met his future wife, Katie. Kurtis became a journeyman scaffolder with Mosaic while Katie became a teacher, and the high school sweethearts were married on August 4th, 2012. Since then, they have built their life and family in Moose Jaw with the additions of their two beautiful children, Linkin and Nora.
Kurtis was an avid sports fan from a young age, following the Calgary Flames, the Denver Broncos, and the Moose Jaw Warriors with much attention and excitement. With season tickets to the Warriors, Kurtis would grab his jersey and hit the home games with Katie, Linkin, and Nora. He loved the games, and he loved his teams.
He was a quiet man but Kurtis’s quick wit, humour, and loyalty showed itself as he got to know you. He was often ready with a quick joke, fun-spirited tease, and a laugh. He was a superhero fan (Marvel, not DC), and a lover of Star Wars. Spiderman and Darth Vader were familiar figures to his kids from a young age. Kurtis loved his kids dearly. He filled the role of family chef (and dishwasher), read to both Linkin and Nora, and enjoyed movie nights with his family.
Kurtis will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Katie; children, Linkin and Nora; parents, Mark and Beverley; sister, Amanda (Marshal) and children Kolby, Khloe, and Kacey; brother, Kyle (Ashley) and children Alayna and Nathan; as well as his friends and extended family.
A Memorial Service will be held for Kurtis on Friday, August 6th, 2021 at 2:30 p.m. at the Hillcrest Apostolic Church, 1550 Main St N, Moose Jaw, SK. With restrictions being recently lifted, masks are optional.
If you are able, the family requests that you consider becoming an organ donor or donating blood. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations be made to Linkin and Nora’s Education Trust Fund: Kurtis Harrower Trust Fund, Conexus Credit Union, e-transfer to kurtisharrowerfundraiser@gmail.com or cheques may be made payable to Kurtis Harrower Trust Fund and deposited at Conexus Credit Union, 80 High St W, Moose Jaw, SK.
Arrangements are entrusted to Moose Jaw Funeral Home, 268 Mulberry Lane. Todd Sjoberg, Funeral Director 306-693-4550

Dear Mark and Family; I don’t know if you remember me Mark, but we went to Palliser Heights together. My niece obviously knew of your son, as she put it on fb. What a beautiful handsome son you and your wife raised, I can’t imagine what your family is going through, also his own family, my heart breaks for you both .It sounds like he was the shy quiet type, just as you were! Take comfort in all of your beautiful times memories. Again, so sorry take care of yourselves, he would want that, I’m sure. Life is so unfair, especially when a person passes way too soon! Sincerely, Donna McSherry
