Brian Elwin Harrison
Brian Elwin Harrison, aged 70 years of Moose Jaw, SK passed away peacefully on Friday, February 19th, 2021 at the Regina General Hospital. Brian was born on September 13th, 1950 in Radville, SK.
He was predeceased by his parents, Elwin and Agnes Harrison; and brother, George Harrison. Brian is remembered with love by his wife of 48 years, Jeanette; daughters, Tracy (Hannah) of Lloydminster, AB and Tania (Hayley) of Regina, SK; sisters, Marlene (Darald) Marin of Radville, SK and Karen (Jake) Loose of Vernon, BC; sister-in-law, Sally Harrison of Vernon, BC; as well as his nieces and nephews.
Brian received his Bachelor of Education and taught in Gladmar, Eyebrow and Moose Jaw, SK. He enjoyed teaching and working with young people for 30 years, retiring in 2000. He loved the outdoors and enjoyed memorable camping, fishing and ski trips with family and friends. Over the years, Brian, as a man of faith, generously devoted time to the St Joseph Parish Social Justice Committee, Moose Jaw & District Food Bank, Providence Place Foundation, and was a member of the Knights of Columbus. In his retirement, he worked federal elections as ARO and RO. Brian believed that if everyone did their small part for a community, great things could become of this, as we are all part of one community.
He was an avid Moose Jaw Warriors fan and took many a “ribbing” when wearing his Toronto Maple Leafs jersey! His best “cheering” was supporting his daughters at their sporting activities.
Brian’s family would like to thank all family and friends for their support, kindness and prayers during this difficult time. Thanks to the Regina General Hospital, Wascana Rehab, Pasqua Hospital, and the Allan Blair Cancer Center staff that cared for Brian during his stay. Special thanks to Doctor Rao.
A Private Family Mass will be celebrated at St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church. In lieu of flowers, donations in Brian’s name may be made to St. Joseph’s Parish Social Justice, 1064 3rd Ave NW, Moose Jaw, SK S6H 3T9 or Providence Place Foundation Inc, 100 – 2nd Ave NE, Moose Jaw, SK S6H 1B8. My both sons whom Brian taught remember him as a good, kind and approachable teacher. They are both very saddened by his early passing. I will remember Brian, being a member of the Social Justice Committee, as a thoughtful, concerned and an empathetic person who had a special dedication towards the less fortunate and marginalized people of our community. To Brian’s family and friends my family’s most sincere condolences and God’s healing. He will be missed. May He rest on the wings of angels in everlasting peace.

Jeanette, Tracy Tania and family, we know you will miss, but fondly remember, your devoted husband, father, and friend. Covid19 prevented many of us from visiting with Brian and doing what Brian would have done for his many friends. Both of us had the pleasure of knowing Brian. He was the kindest man you would ever meet, never talking ill of anyone. I had the pleasure of having Brian as a colleague during his years with the Moose Jaw Catholic School system. Brian had many great qualities and attributes, the list is long. But the best was that Brian could always be counted on to do the right thing. You will be missed Brian.
I got to know Brian at Wascana. I was one of the CCA there and worked extensively with him. I was so very saddened to hear of his passing. To you the family, may i offer my deepest sympathy.
We talked alot and he helped me through some tough days as i was still mourning the death of my own husband. We had amazing talks about his faith and just life in general. I could go into his room and sit on his bed and we just talked about lots.

I stumbled upon this today as Mr. Harrison crosses my mind from time to time. He is not forgotten.
I had the pleasure of being one of Mr. Harrison’s elementary students. I always remembered his kindness, gentleness, and empowering teaching style. These were gifts that Mr. Harrison had and it’s an honour to be able to carry some of these gifts with me in my own career.
Rest in peace, Mr. Harrison.
