Donald Frederick Hantelmann

On Monday, December 19th, 2016, Donald Frederick Hantelmann, our beloved father and husband of the late Anne Hantelmann (née Morgan – 1974), passed away in Moose Jaw, SK at the age of 96 years.  Donald (Hap) was born on the farm at Pitman, SK on March 29th, 1920, and attended Adelaide School #1200.  He was predeceased by his father, Otto D. Hantelmann; mother, Mildred Hantelmann (née Botzett); brothers: Marcus, Norman, and Robert; and sister Beulah.  Donald is survived by his wife, Norma Hantelmann (née Forsyth); and his brother, Byron Hantelmann.  Those celebrating his life include his daughters: Nora Sadlemyer (Jim), Judith (Ken) Schmidt, Wanda Myles, Mary Jo Hantelmann (Dennis), Nancy Hantelmann (Kevin); and son, Allan (Sharon) Hantelmann.  His memory will also be cherished by his 11 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren; his nieces and nephews; stepchildren: Brent (Pat) Mohr, Jack (Bev) Mohr, and Sherry (Don) Mann; 6 step-grandchildren, 11 step-great-grandchildren, and 5 step-great-great-grandchildren.  Thank you to West Park Crossing and Home Care Palliative nurses for the excellent care and compassion.  A Celebration of Hap’s Life will be held on Wednesday, December 21st, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. in the Harvey Room at Moose Jaw Funeral Home.  As an expression of sympathy, donations in Hap’s name may be made to the Shriners Hospital for Sick Children c/o Moose Jaw Shrine Club, 1767 Main St N, Moose Jaw, SK S6J 1L6.  Arrangements are entrusted to Moose Jaw Funeral Home, 268 Mulberry Lane.  Michelle Surtees Funeral Director 306-693-4550
