Dorothy Jean (Boyes) Gray
Early in the morning of November 13th, 2009 Dorothy Jean (Boyes) Gray went home to be with her Lord and Saviour. She was predeceased three months ago by her beloved husband, John. She is also predeceased by her parents, Sanford and Sarah Boyes; brothers: James, Stanley and Thomas; sisters: Beatrice, Mary and Margaret. Dorothy is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Doris and Johnny Erickson; brother David; sister Anna; brother-in-law Art Munroe; sisters-in-law: Myrtle, Magna and Shirley; several nephews, nieces, cousins and their families. Dorothy was born in 1921 to a homesteading family in the Domremy district where she received her early education. She became a teacher. It was during this time that she received Jesus as her Saviour, realizing that her own good works were not enough to please a perfect God. Loving children and loving the Lord, she chose to combine these two values for work in Venezuela with Child Evangelism Fellowship. She returned to Canada in 1985 and married Mr. John Gray in 1987. They began their married life in Moose Jaw and later moved to Caronport. Dorothy had a cheerful and gentle manner, a strong work ethic, and a determination to see projects through to their completion. The family wishes to thank the staff at Chateau St. Michael’s and at Extendicare for kindness shown to Dorothy during a time when her mental faculties were weakening. Also thank you to Dr. R.S. Jacobson for his care and advice. The Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, November 18th, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. in Moose Jaw Funeral Home with Rev. Ron Gray officiating. Family and friends are invited for a time of visitation on Tuesday, November 17th, 2009 from 7:00 – 8:30 p.m. at Moose Jaw Funeral Home. If friends so desire, gifts may be directed to Child Evangelism Fellowship of Saskatchewan, 74 Marquis Crescent, Regina, SK., S4S 6J9.
