Cecil John Glover
Cecil John Glover, aged 79 years of Moose Jaw, SK passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 22nd, 2019, in Saskatoon, SK. Cecil was born on March 3rd, 1940 to Cecil ‘Jake’ and Anna (née: Ham) Glover and grew up in the Blue Hill District along with the love of his life, Marleen (née: Hartley). They were married on April 16th, 1960 at Blue Hill Church. From the day he bought his first guitar as a teenager, music was a great passion in Cec’s life, second only to his love for his family. During Cecil’s nearly four decades of ministry, countless people were impacted by his teaching, his music, and his genuine love for people. He loved to laugh, was a great storyteller, and every person who met Cecil walked away knowing he truly cared about them. He was predeceased by his parents, Jake and Anna; his brother, Cal; and his beloved dog, Benji. Cecil is survived by his beloved wife, Marleen; daughter, Kelly (Randy) Watson; and sons, Daniel (Bernie) and Darren (Joyce); grandchildren: Tyler Watson (Hanna), Laurissa Watson (David Rival), Joel Watson (Jordan Bonkowski), William Watson (Brianne), Ashley Beyak (Jeff), Jesse Breault, Colton Glover and Austin Glover; sister, Judy Bender; as well as many cousins, nieces and nephews. One of the great joys of his life was being a great-grandfather to Kassi, Audrey, Astrid, Rigg and Cruz. A Celebration of Cecil’s life will be held on Thursday, September 26th, 2019 at 1:30 p.m. in Moose Jaw Funeral Home. We would like to express our heartfelt thanks to the exceptional doctors, nurses and other support staff at the Acute Stroke Unit, Royal University Hospital. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Royal University Hospital, 103 Hospital Dr, Saskatoon, SK S7N 0W8 or STARS Air Ambulance, 2640 Airport Road, Regina, SK S4W 1A3 are greatly appreciated. Marlene and family; Shirley and I are deeply saddened bye the loss of your soul mate Cecil and a very special friend to myself.
I remember meeting Cecil in 1959 and worked with him during his Policing career! He was a very talented musician forming his own band.
May GOD bless you and your family and the many friends he made during his life and ministry career!

Sorry for your Dad’s passing to Dan and family Greg Nicholls.
I first came to know Cec and Maureen when he came sometimes to our big church in Saskatoon on Sunday evenings and in his simple homespun way shared, through music and word, the story of the gospel of Jesus Christ and his journey along that road. Although we got together much less often than we would have liked, our friendship was renewed when we both ended up in Moose Jaw. He and Maureen had spent some of those years in travelling evangelism in the United States where his ministry affected many many people.
I have not known anyone who had a closer walk with God than Cec. I always felt is if my spiritual batteries had been recharged whenever we talked. I think we had a special bond, and we liked each other. I shall miss him. Maureen, blessings and condolences to you and all the family. We shall see him again one day in the great bye and bye.
Sending comfort and hugs to you Marleen. You and Cecil have made me feel so welcome on the block since moving in to my new home. I enjoyed all of our chats over the last couple of years and as of late our debriefs of the construction on the block. Thinking of you so very much at this difficult time.
Lois and myself are truly sorry for your loss. We would like to offer you and your family our deepest and most sincere condolences. We have many good memories of our time with him.
My condolences to you Marlene and your entire family. I met Cecil early in my walk with Jesus and Cecil played
a big part in helping me to understanding the Trinity and their functions, Cecil loved the book of Romans and understood it.
I am sadden by the passing of Cecil, but also very happy for him to be with Jesus, I could not imagine the joy that Cecil has right
now and for every.
Marleen and family – Eileen and I are so sorry for the loss of your Cec. Although separated by years and miles, please know that we wish we could be there today to celebrate Cecil’s life, and will see you soon.
The non-judgmental attitude of Cec goes back many years for me, and I cant count how many times I have thanked God for him and you for one day in particular – April 6, 1978.
All our love and Blessings, Marleen!
My condolences to you and your family at this time !
We were so sorry to hear of your loss. Our condolences and prayers for you and your family. He will be missed!
Many special memories, Marleen, of the times when our life’s journey crossed paths! Both you and Cec touched our lives as we together had opportunity to share a deep faith in our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. May the Lord of all comfort envelop you and strengthen you as we walk toward the day when we will all be united in His amazing Presence forever. With love and appreciation for you both, Sharon Bobst
Please accept our deepest condolences on the passing of your dear husband and father. We are thankful for his ministry in our early Christian walk – he impacted our lives and we are thankful. Our heartfelt love to you always.
Dear Marlene and Family,
I met Cecil in the late 1970’s when he ministered at a Full Gospel Business Men’s conference in Spruce Grove, Alberta. I still remember him like it was yesterday, and his ministry has affected me ever since in the way it touched my heart and bore witness to the great things the Lord has done in my life. He’s with the Lord now, and I look forward to meeting him again someday! God Bless you!
