Gordon Donald Gleim
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Gordon Donald Gleim on Friday, December 19th, 2019 at the Pasqua Hospital in Regina, SK at the age of 81 years. Gordon was born to George and Minnie Gleim on December 28th, 1937 in Chaplin, SK. He attended Uren School until he decided to quit school and began farming with the help of his father. In the late 60’s, Gordon undertook a long career working with and around people in numerous retail positions, as well as a number of building manager positions. Gordon always had a passion for farming throughout his life. In his retirement years, Gordon also developed a passion for sports, and he enjoyed following the Moose Jaw Warriors, Toronto Maple Leafs, Toronto Blue Jays and last but not least, the Saskatchewan Roughriders. Gordon was the type of person that was always happy and had a laugh that was contagious. Gordon touched many lives over his years and he believed that his wealth was not measured in dollars but in being a good friend and the best father, grandfather and great-grandfather that was possible. He was predeceased by his father and mother, George and Minnie Gleim; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Phillip and Marie Deobald; wife, Eleanor with whom he was married to for 54 years; son, Trevor; and son, Curtis. Gordon will be sadly missed by loving wife, Elsie; his children: Rosemarie (Gordon), Phillip (Cheryl), and Leroy (Layne); stepchildren, Sherri (Nelson) and Debbie (Terry); grandchildren: Chelsey Stock (Brant), Arran Hamilton (Amy), Jillian Khazanovsky (Alex), Harris, Evyn, Samantha and Tiana; and great-grandchildren: Maddux, Violet, Amelia, Jaxon and Weston. Gordon is also survived by his sisters, Helen and Eileen (Terrance); brother, Robert; as well as numerous nephews and nieces. The Funeral Service will be held on Friday, December 27th, 2019 at 3:00 p.m. in Moose Jaw Funeral Home. Pastor Marvin Seaborg will officiate and interment will take place at Flowing Wells Cemetery at a later date. As an expression of sympathy, donations in Gordon’s Name may be made to the Canadian Transplant Association, PO Box 74, Tavistock, ON N0B 2R0. Arrangements are entrusted to Moose Jaw Funeral Home, 268 Mulberry Lane. Gary McDowell, Funeral Director 306-693-4550.
