Goldia Jessie Glass
Goldia Jessie Glass, aged 88 years of Moose Jaw and formerly of Chaplin and Central Butte, SK, passed away on Saturday, March 22nd, 2014 with her family by her side. Goldia was born in Chaplin, SK on May 11th, 1925. She was an active member of the Chaplin and Moose Jaw Legion Ladies Auxiliary for many years. She travelled during her middle aged years to the Yukon, which she loved. She cooked in construction camps for many years there. She came back to Moose Jaw in the early 1970’s and did voluntary home care work. She loved crocheting, gardening, playing cards and crossword puzzles. She also loved music and dancing. In later years, she resided in Iver Main Place in Central Butte, SK and moved there when it first opened. Goldia moved to Moose Jaw in 2013 and resided in Crescent Park Villa until her passing. She was predeceased by 11 brothers and sisters; an infant daughter; and son-in-law, Lyle Loeppky. Goldia is survived by her daughters: Verna (Walter) Blaschuck and family, Dola (Bill) Newton and family; son, Darwin (Janet) Glass and family; brother, Carl Hallett of Île-à-la-Crosse, SK; close friend, Helen Berger of Moose Jaw, SK; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. The Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, March 26th, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. in Moose Jaw Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Rosedale Cemetery. As an expression of sympathy, donations in Goldia’s name may be made to Central Butte Iver Main Place, Box 550, Central Butte, SK S0H 0T0.
