Donald Allen Glass aged 62 years of Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan, passed away peacefully Tuesday, August 27th, 2024, at his home surrounded by family after a short 3-month battle with pancreatic cancer. He was predeceased by his parents, Edward and Freda Glass of Chaplin, SK; sisters, Cindy Folk (Lennart) of Maple Creek, SK Bonnie Hampton (Keith) of Central Butte, SK; and his wife’s parents, Larry and Gabe Dionne of Moose Jaw, SK. Donald is survived by his wife, Angelle; daughter, Reesey Van Caeseele (Tyson) of Churchbridge, SK and her sons, Liam and Zayd; daughter, Jessica Glass (Chris) of Moose Jaw, SK and her son, Cayden and daughters, Kayden, Emery, and Oaklyn; sister, Carol Torrie (Doug) of Davidson, SK; brother, Gordon Glass (Judy) of Watson, SK; brother-in-law, Maurice Dionne (Louise); sister-in-law, Dorraine Dionne (Norm); as well as numerous nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.
Donald was currently on leave from his job as Maintenance for GATX Rail, where he served 20 years of service as a railcar repairman, welder and maintenance. Donald could always be found tinkering in his garage, spending time with family, or more recently, developing his seasonal campsite at Smitt’s Beach. When Donald was not tinkering, he could be found riding his motorcycle, travelling anywhere his bike would take him, enjoying the incredible freedom. He was a very loving and giving man and cherished all the time he could spend with his grandbabies and all other family as well.
Taken from us far too soon, but the memory of him will be in our hearts forever.
A Celebration of Donald’s Life will be held on Sunday, September 1st, 2024. A short service will be officiated by Pastor Marvin Seaborg at 2:00 p.m. at the Cosmo Senior Center, 235 3rd Ave NE, Moose Jaw, SK, followed by a come and go luncheon until 5:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations in Donald’s name may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
