Constantine Giofu
Constantine Giofu, aged 82 years of Moose Jaw, SK, passed away on Saturday, October 29th, 2016. Con was born at Ormiston, SK in 1934 on the family farm. He worked at the Salt Plant in his younger years, also worked at the PFRA for 9 years and farmed as well. He sold the farm in 1972. Con and Shirley operated a Service Station and Bulk Fuel Service in Ormiston, SK from 1968 to 1971. Con and Shirley and their family moved to Moose Jaw in 1971 and where he worked as a carpenter until he retired in 2001. He married Shirley in 1959 at Kayville, SK and they were blessed with five children. Con enjoyed fishing, camping and socializing, and loved spending time with his family. He was predeceased by his parents, Vasil and Vera; sisters: Margaret, Elaine and Kay, and their spouses; and brothers, George and John, and their spouses. Con will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Shirley; sons: Alan (Patti), Brett (Debbie), Brad, Calvin (Rhonda), and Dennis; 6 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren; sister, Irene; brother-in-law, Jim; sisters-in-law, Judy (Keith), Margaret (Jim) and Clara; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. The Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, November 2nd, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. in Moose Jaw Funeral Home. Father John Bingham will officiate and interment will take place at Rosedale Cemetery. A Time of Visitation for family and friends will be held on Tuesday, November 1st, 2016 from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at Moose Jaw Funeral Home.
