Annette Geisler
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Annette Geisler on October 7th, 2019, Annette was born on January 7th, 1929 in Coderre, SK. She is predeceased by her husband, Peter; parents, Achille and Laure Poisson; brother, Gerard and sisters, Marguerite and Yvette. Annette is survived by her daughters, Brenda (Cam) McEachern and Laura (Jim) Nieman; grandchildren: Kristin (Rob), Denny (Kerry), Meagan (Chad), Chelsey (Guy) and Breanne (Ryan); ten great grandchildren; sisters, Marie Jeanne and Jeannine and brother, Rene (Jean) as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Annette grew up in Coderre and helped out in the family store. After high school, she attended Normal School in Moose Jaw. Prior to completing her training, she was sent to teach in Redvers and Storthokes, travelling to and from school by horse and cutter. Her teaching career was short lived and she chose to become a lab technician. She worked at the Providence Hospital until her marriage to Peter in 1954. She adapted well to life on the farm, growing a large vegetable garden, canning, freezing, hauling meals to the field and driving the grain truck. Their time was split between Avonlea and Moose Jaw until Peter retired. They enjoyed their many friends; card nights, gambling trips and sharing a “sociable”. After Peter’s passing, Annette moved to Saskatoon where she resided at Parkville Manor. She had a full social calendar and enjoyed all the activities available. She made many friends and was known to many residents as “Florence Nightingale” for her caring and compassion. Because of failing health, Annette spent her final months living with family. Being close to Kristin, Claire and Emily was a special gift for Annette.
The family wishes to extend a special thank you to Erin Boyce, N.P, and Dr. Ivan Teofilov for their outstanding and compassionate care.
A Memorial Service for Annette will be held on Thursday, October 17th, 2019 at 11:00 AM in Moose Jaw Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, donations in Annette’s name may be made to a charity of one’s choice. Arrangements are entrusted to Moose Jaw Funeral Home, 268 Mulberry Lane. I was saddened to hear of the passing of your mother. Loved her dearly as I spent much time at the farm with you, Brenda, as we were growing up. Your mom will be truly missed!
During our high school years in Coderre I knew Annette to be very kind, most gracious and an outstanding student. My deepest sympathy to her family and friends.
May your cherished memories ease the sorrow of her passing.

I’m truly sorry to hear of the passing of Annette and regret not having seen her in the past few years. She was a wonderfully kind person and I always saw a twinkle in her eye when she was happy. She was one of my favorite aunt’s and she made some of the most wonderful meals when I visited.
My deepest condolences to the Brenda, Laura and the of the family. She will be greatly missed by all but she will live on in our memories in times to come.
XOXO
