Joseph Camille Alin Gaudreau (Al)
Joseph Camille Alin Gaudreau (Al), passed away at home on Friday, March 6th, 2015. He was predeceased by his son, Jeffrey; mother, Lea Gaudreau (Blanchette); and father, Armand Gaudreau. Al leaves to mourn his wife of 20 years, Lea (Giroux) Gaudreau; daughters: Vanessa (Murray) Getty, Monique (Chad) Ferraton, Claudette (Richard) Tubman; son, Norm (Tamara) Ferraton; grandchildren: Steven, Danielle, Michael, Ryan, Nicole, Rachel, Melissa, Connor, Kellyn, Danielle, Morgan and Madisyn; his precious great-grandchildren, Presley and Zaidyn; brothers: Ray Gaudreau, Gerry (Diana) Gaudreau and Louis (Adeline) Gaudreau; and sisters, Dolores (Claude) Richard and Blanche (Liz) Gaudreau. Al was born in Gravelbourg on January 25th, 1942. He was raised on a farm near Courval where he helped his dad farming until he decided to move to Moose Jaw for an education. Al did many jobs throughout his life, but his most recent work was at Cargill where he was a grain buyer for 35 years. Unfortunately, a major heart attack in 1997 forced Al to retire. Aside from spending time with his family, there were many things in life that Al loved to do. He was an expert fisherman and he spent his summers at Thomson Lake with Lea, family and friends, which was his favourite time of all. In Moose Jaw, Al and Lea spent many years at the Army and Navy Vets, where Al enjoyed Saturday pool tournaments – he was the “pool shark”. He always wanted to win the meat draw. Al was a wonderful grandfather and spent so much time teaching his grandkids how to put their worms on the hook, reel them in and fix ‘em up. He loved card games with family and friends and rarely lost a game of cribbage or “chase the ace”. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, March 13th, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church, 1064 3rd Ave NW, Moose Jaw, SK. Father Bert Lillo will be the presiding celebrant and interment will take place at Sunset Cemetery at a later date. A Prayer Service will be held on Thursday, March 12th, 2015 at 7:00 p.m. in Moose Jaw Funeral Home.
