HELEN MARIE GABEL (née: Kuntz)
April 8th, 1933 – October 12th, 2022
It is with great sorrow we announce the passing of our mother, grandma, great-grandma, aunt and friend, Helen Marie Gabel, aged 89 years young, on Wednesday, October 12th, 2022 with family by her side.
Helen was born to Anthony and Caroline Kuntz of Vantage, SK. She was predeceased by her parents; her husband of 44 years, Herman; brothers: Harvey, Elmer, and Lorne; and sister, Dorothy. Helen is survived by her daughters, Marilyn (Wes) and Ann (Dan); son, Allan (Brenda); 11 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren; brothers, Albert and Jim (Sharon); sisters, Bernice and Rita; as well as several nieces and nephews.
Helen married Herman Gabel of Ardill, SK in 1955. Together they built a farm on the north hill from Ardill and had 3 children. They retired from farming and moved to Moose Jaw, SK in 1992.
The family would like to thank Dr Janzen, Dr King, and the staff of Providence Place and Pioneer Lodge.
The Funeral Service will be held on Sunday, November 13th, 2022 at 1:30 p.m. in Moose Jaw Funeral Home. Father Nestor Gregoire will officiate and interment will take place in Sunset Cemetery at a later date. Those not able to attend may view the service virtually by going to www.moosejawfuneralhome.com/webcast/. As an expression of sympathy, donations in Helen’s name may be made to the CNIB, 2160 Broad Street, Regina, SK S4P 1Y5. Arrangements are entrusted to Moose Jaw Funeral Home, 268 Mulberry Lane. I remember Helen from Eatons. Volunteered in the kitchen and at dances. Always a joy to chat with.
I am a sincere bible student and I am sad to hear went love ones lose their life to our enemy dead. To comforted all in the family and your friends please consider the words mentioned in the Bible at 1Corinthians 15: 21- 26.
Our sympathy to all of you on the loss of your Mom. I used to see her at The lunch counter at MJ District Seniors and sometimes would get a bit of a visit in and would tell her to say Hi to Marilyn for me. She loved working there and loved the chats.
