Raymond Freeland

Ray Freeland passed away on September 8, 2014. Predeceased by loving wife, Joni and grandson, Raymond. Ray is survived by his four daughters: Sandra (Scott) Devenny, Linda (Kim) McIntyre, Wanda (Garry) Trent, Pam Freeland; grandchildren: Neil (Aly) Devenny, Kinda (Jon) Peters, Jed (Tasha) McIntyre, David Freeland, Amanda Corea; great-grandchildren: Ethan & Jayden Devenny, Chanel & Whitney Lanz McIntyre, Drake & Brandy Derby. He will also be lovingly remembered by wife June Bruce and her children: Rob (Rhonda) Bruce, Jeff Bruce and Lisa (Maurice) Halipchak; grandchildren: Harmony & Jerri Bruce, Samantha & Travis Bruce, Matthew, Samuel & Andrew Halipchak and Kamisha & Darren Penner and great-grandson Isiah Penner. He is also survived by brother Harold Baragar and sisters Hazel Jensen and Louise Napper. Ray retired from the armed forces after 22 years of service. He then went on to work at Woolco for another 21 years. His winters in Arizona included golfing, marshalling at the Phoenix Open, silversmithing and the Rock and Gem Club. His summers in Moose Jaw were filled with golfing at the Hillcrest, gardening and mowing June’s lawn. He will be sadly missed by family and his circle of many friends. A Celebration of Ray’s life will be held on Saturday, September 13, 2014 at 3:00 p.m. in Moose Jaw Funeral Home with Rev. Douglas Shepherd officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations in Ray’s name may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society Saskatchewan, 1910 McIntyre St. Regina, SK., S4P 2R3.
