Ernest (Ernie) Folk
Ernest (Ernie) Folk, aged 79 years of Moose Jaw, SK, passed away on Sunday, December 22nd, 2013. A Celebration of Life Memorial Tea will be held on Saturday, December 28th, 2013 from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. in the St. Andrew’s United Church Social Hall. He was predeceased by his parents, Conrad and Margaret Folk. Ernie is survived by his loving wife of 24 years, Norma; children: Kelly (Debbie) Folk, Sherri Folk (Pete), Boyd (Theresa) Swain, Robin (Paula) Swain and Darla (Kevin) Martin; 16 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; brothers, Jerry (Jeanne) Folk and Norman (Myrna) Folk; sisters-in-law: Dorothy, Edith (Doug), Isabel, Muriel (Lawrence) and Iris; as well as numerous other family members. Ernie was employed with Gulf Oil Refinery for 31 years. After his retirement, he became the caretaker at St. Andrew’s United Church for 6 years. Ernie was a hardworking man, always willing to help anyone at any time. He most recently enjoyed the Maguire Centre at Providence Place. Family was everything to him, especially his grandchildren who were the pride of his life. He welcomed everyone to his home with a big “Welcome Home”. As an expression of sympathy, donations in Ernie’s name may be made to the Providence Place Foundation Inc. for the Maguire Centre Social Program, 100 – 2nd Ave. N.E., Moose Jaw, SK S6H 1B8.
