Bill Folk
Bill Folk, aged 89 years of Moose Jaw, SK passed away on Monday, April 29th, 2019. Bill was born in Lampman, SK and moved to Moose Jaw in 1959. He worked at Trans Canada Trailers Sales until he bought Model Shoe Repair and later William’s Shoe Repair, which he operated until his retirement. Bill was a musician and a self-taught accordion player. He played with the BBMJ Ranch Boys and later with Happy Medium, and Olga and Friends. Bill will be lovingly remembered by his children: Bev (Norm), John “Wayne”, Katherine (Geoff), and Robert “Rob”; grandchildren: Lindsay (Cory), Shannon (Troy), and Deven; and his great-grandchildren. The Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, May 4th, 2019 at 1:00 p.m. in Moose Jaw Funeral Home. Dave Foley will officiate and interment will take place at Sunset Cemetery. Flowers are gratefully declined. As an expression of sympathy, donations in Bill’s name may be made to the Moose Jaw Health Foundation, 55 Diefenbaker Drive, Moose Jaw, SK S6J 0C2. It is very sad that Mr. Bill Folk has passed away. He was a very kind person. I personally want to offer my sincere sympathy to the family, and a comforting scriptural hope there is for our love one who have died. 1Corinthians 15: 22-26.
Sorry to see your dad has gone. I remember him when I was a young kid down in the basement of the Hammond block then across from the police station. He always had that smile and a humorous comment. My sympathy to all take care Rob G reg Nicholls.
So sorry to hear of Bill’s passing. For awhile I played with him in Olga & Friends, a truly great accordionist! Our Condolences to all his family & friends.
