Pearl Elizabeth Fjaagesund
Pearl Elizabeth Fjaagesund of Moose Jaw, Sask. formerly of Chaplin passed away peacefully on June 1, 2020 at the age of 90. Pearl was born and raised in Pine Lake area. She attended Normal School in Moose Jaw where she received her teaching certificate. She went on to teach in a number of one room country schools. She met her husband, Lloyd Fjaagesund and they were married on July 23, 1953. They farmed south of Valjean on the Fjaagesund homestead where they raised four children. Pearl became a fulltime homemaker and mother. She enjoyed cooking and gardening. In 1981 Lloyd and Pearl purchased a home in Moose Jaw for their retirement. They eased into city living throughout the years.
Pearl enjoyed watching curling and her daily TV shows. She always had time for coffee and a visit. Pearl never let anyone leave her house without a meal and care package for the road. Lloyd and Pearl’s door was always open to everyone and no invitation was required.
Pearl was predeceased by her husband Lloyd and her son Martin. She is survived by her daughters Debbie and Sharon (Dale), grand children Matthew (Taylor) and Justin. Also her son Dave (Yvonne), step grandchildren Selena (great grandchildren Emmy and Ollie) and William, Martin’s children Shauna and Martin Lloyd (Amber) She is survived by her brothers Tom and Fred, sisters Lil May, Vi Duzuka (Sam), sisters in law Shirley Shopa and Marnie Shopa as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Due to on-going Covid Pandemic concerns, there will be no public service held at this time.
