Lois Ferguson
It is with heavy hearts that the family of Lois Ferguson (nee Gallinger) announces her passing on Saturday, August 18th, 2012. Lois went home to be with our Lord peacefully and gracefully after battling illness for a number of months. A loving Grandma, Mother, Wife, Sister, Auntie, and Friend, Lois will be greatly missed by all the people who’s lives she touched. Born in Moose Jaw on July 4th, 1946, Mom grew up on the family farm near Spring Valley where she received her education before moving to Moose Jaw and continuing at STI. Soon after she entered the workforce and in June of 1967, married the love of her life, Clarence Ferguson. She continued to work throughout her life and eventually was awarded a management position with Saskatchewan Government Insurance, where she worked until her retirement in 2007. Lois was as feisty as she was caring. She could be tough as a badger or as gentle as a kitten depending on what the situation warranted. These qualities served her tremendously throughout her lifetime, and her children feel blessed to have learned the delicate balance. Lois will live on in the hearts and minds of all who knew her. Left to remember and cherish her most are her husband and best friend of over 45 years, Clarence; her children, Cory Ferguson and Trisha (Ed) Seman; her pride and joy, granddaughters Avery and Clare Seman; sisters Arlene (Karl) Wagner, and Lyla (John) Eisen, brother George Gallinger ; best friend and sister in spirit Linda (Marshall) Simons, along with numerous nephews, nieces, cousins, and in-laws. In keeping with Lois’ wishes, there will be no Funeral Service. In lieu of flowers, donations in Lois’ name may be made to a charity of one’s choice. Mom lives on in all of us. The tears we shed today give way to warm smiles, soothing memories, and a lifetime of happy stories. We love you.
‘Just as I am, without one plea
But that thy blood was shed for me
And that thou bidd’st me come to thee
O Lamb of God, I come, I come.’
