Agnes Erickson

Agnes Erickson, passed away on Tuesday, January 8th, 2008 at Extendicare Nursing Home in Moose Jaw with family by her side.  Agnes in her 95th year was predeceased by her infant daughter Florence (1933) and by her beloved husband Fred (1960).  Loving mother of Dorothy McPherson and Mervin Erickson.  Cherished grandmother of Dianna (Les) Gray, Lorne (Maria) Huber, Linda Huber, Carol (Jay) Odynski, Bonnie (Mark) Meikle, Tania (Ches) Meikle, Wendy (Dale) Duzan, Shelly (Randy) Logan and Bryan Erickson.  She will be fondly remembered by her 18 great-grandchildren, her 11 great-great-grandchildren and by her many nieces, nephews and friends.  Agnes is predeceased by her parents Jacob and Katie, 3 sisters, 2 brothers, daughter-in-law Doreen Erickson, son-in-law Don McPherson and by her great-grandson Scott McPherson.  Agnes came to Canada from her native Germany at the age of 11.  She married Fred in 1929, and they farmed together in the St. Boswells area, moving to Moose Jaw in 1958.  Agnes was a hard working and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother.  She worked for many years cleaning homes for prominent people in Moose Jaw after Fred’s passing in 1960.  The Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, January 12th, 2008 at 1:00 p.m. in the Hillcrest Apostolic Church (1550 Main St. North) with Rev. Robert Tauber officiating.  Interment will follow at Rosedale Cemetery.  In memory of Agnes, memorials to the Extendicare family Support Group, 1151 Coteau Street W. Moose Jaw, SK, S6H 5G5 would be appreciated by the family.
