Jim Ellison
On Friday, May 28th, 2010, after a brief and courageous battle with cancer, Jim left this world with the same quiet dignity and strength that he lived his life. He leaves behind his beloved wife and best friend of 36 years Donna and his daughter Shelley (Gary) Armstrong of Victoria, B.C.; three sisters, Greta (Bill) Smith, Marjorie (Walter) Pritchard, Betty (Earl) Campbell and many nieces and nephews; as well as too many friends to mention them all. Jim was born in Moose Jaw on October 7th, 1939 to Norman and Charlotte Ellison. He spent the first half of his life on the family farm before setting out on his next adventure, driving an eighteen wheeler until his retirement. A man of few words with a heart of gold who would stop and help anyone that needed him. A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, June 3rd, 2010 at 1:30 pm in Moose Jaw Funeral Home. Reverend Lynne Clarke will officiate. Visitation for family and friends will be held on Wednesday, June 2nd, 2010 from 7:00 – 8:30 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, 61B Ross St. W., Moose Jaw, SK.S6H 2M2. Special thanks to Dr. Brown, whom Jim trusted so very much and also to the nurses who made him comfortable through his last days on earth.
