Richard Gordon Eberts

Richard Gordon Eberts, aged 64 years of Moose Jaw, SK, passed away peacefully on Monday, December 16th, 2013 with his wife Glenny by his side.  Richard was born on May 3rd, 1949 and grew up on the family farm north of Lumsden, SK.  He was predeceased by his father, Steve Eberts and his mother, Dorothy Eberts; his father-in-law, Merle Frederick; and brothers-in-law, Keith Korney and Kurt Stach.  Richard leaves to mourn his wife of 41 years, Glenny; children: Ed (Sunni), granddaughter, Willow; Mark (Lorrie), grandchildren: Madisson, Paige and Oliver; and Paul.  Also left to mourn are his siblings: Eileen, Bob, Arlene Stach (Brian Krumm), Louise (Darryle) Ramnes and Margaret (Vern) Chypiska.  Richard will also be missed by his mother-in-law, Maureen Frederick of Bethune; in-laws: Donna (Bob) Hehir, Lyle (Minota) Frederick and Debbie (Dennis) Ulmer; and many nieces and nephews.  Richard’s greatest joy was being at the cabin at Wee-Too Beach with his family sitting around the bon-fire, strumming his guitar and enjoying the company of friends and relatives.  Richard was a proud tradesman and retired after 35 years as an instructor at SIAST.  He also did private consulting and worked for AREVA Resources until his illness in January 2010.  The Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, December 21st, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. in St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church, 1064 3rd Ave. N.W., Moose Jaw, SK.  Father Rick Krofchek will be the presiding celebrant and interment will take place at a later date.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Richard’s name to the Princess Margaret Cancer Foundation, Mesothelioma Research Fund, 510 University Ave, Toronto, ON M5G 2M9.  Arrangements are entrusted to Moose Jaw Funeral Home, 268 Mulberry Lane.  Todd Sjoberg, Funeral Director 306-693-4550.
