Karl Dutchak
Karl Dutchak, aged 94 years of Moose Jaw, SK, passed away on Sunday, January 14th, 2018. Karl was born in Lujani, Romania on February 17th, 1923. He immigrated to Canada in 1928 and came to Moose Jaw in 1934. Karl attended Westmount School and Peacock High School. He served in the R.C.A.F. during World War II and was discharged in 1946. Karl was employed with the CP Rail from 1946 – 1976 as a Chef and Business Car Attendant. He then went into a Catering and Food Vending business until he retired in 1986. Karl was a Charter member of the Moose Jaw Optimist Club, a member of the Elks Lodge #7, Doric Lodge #71, former member of the Royal Canadian Legion, and the Army, Navy and Air Force Veterans. He enjoyed playing golf, curling, fishing, and playing cards. He was predeceased by his infant son, Terry; mother, Rosie; father, John; sisters: Irene, Helen, and Stella; wife, Vicki; and brother, Nick. Karl will be lovingly remembered by his sons: Larry, Robert, Donald, Glen (Dawn), and Dale; grandchildren: Kent, Keith, Jennifer, Jason, Mandy, and Rachele; brother, John (Elaine); and sisters, Mary and Liz. A Graveside Service will be held on Tuesday, May 15th, 2018 at 4:00 p.m. in the family plot at Rosedale Cemetery. Flowers are gratefully declined. As an expression of sympathy, donations in Karl’s name may be made to the Elks and Royal Purple Fund for Children, Suite 100 2629-29th Ave, Regina, SK S4S 2N9.
