Durell, Ronald Douglas

Durell, Ronald Douglas, age 76, of Moose Jaw, formerly of Riverhurst, passed away Monday, November 26, 2007 surrounded by his loving family.  In keeping with Ron’s wishes, no funeral service will be held. A visitation for family and friends will be held at Moose Jaw Funeral Home (268 Mulberry Lane) on Wednesday November 28th from 7-9pm, with burial of cremains at 2:00 on Friday November 30th at the Riverhurst Cemetary.

Born and raised in the Maple Bush district, Dad devoted his life to his family and farm.  He served with various organizations in his lifetime; Boldenhurst Snow Plow Club, Riverhurst 4-H Club, Reeve of the RM of Maple Bush, and Mayor of the Village of Riverhurst to name a few.

Dad married Carol Edstrom in 1957 and together they raised their three children on the family farm north of Gilroy.  Dad was predeceased by his parents and his brothers, Gerry and Harold, sister; Marie, his son-in law Lyle and his loving wife Carol.

He is survived by his children Holly (Gary), Brenda (Ron), and Doug (Cindy). Grandchildren Teri(Paul), Yolanda, Cody (Karla), Tanya (Jay), Laura (Jamie), Tracy, Chris (Deidre), Ryan, and Chelsea. And his pride and joy – his great grandchildren; Landon and Jynessa, Elyssa and Annalisa, Elijah, Dylan, Hunter.
