Marvin Donald Dunbar
Marvin Donald Dunbar passed peacefully on to his heavenly home the morning of Monday, October 9th, 2023 at the Dr. F.H. Wigmore Regional Hospital in Moose Jaw, SK – exactly 11 months after his wife, Darlene.
Marv was born January 4th, 1942 to Albert and Leila Dunbar in Osnabruck, ON. He attended Lorne Park College for his final year of high school where he met his future wife, Darlene. Their youngest daughter, Bethany, joined their family in 1979 and they relocated to Beamsville, ON in 1984. Marv retired from Bell in 1997 and enjoyed some travels with their camper van and trailer. In 2007, Marv and Darlene moved to Saskatchewan to live nearer to their kids and grandkids, both in Saskatchewan and British Columbia.
Marv will be lovingly remembered by his family, children: Kathy and Doug Dobrenski, Jay and Lori Dunbar, Bethany and Justin Daechsel; grandchildren: Jessica, Cole, Cody, Gillian, Kaila, Emily, Keyanna, Jude, Kamea, Elliana, Solomon, and Isaiah; and 6 great-grandchildren.

We are grieving along with you but rejoicing at your dad’s stepping in to Jesus arms. He was working on fixing the air conditioner the day I stopped in to visit your mom and we had a lovely visit together talking about the Lord. Both of your parents were real treasures.
Praying for you to know God’s comfort every day.
Dear Kathy, Jay, Bethany,Eileen, Wayne, and families,
My sincere condolences on the passing of your father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, and uncle. I have been, and will continue to be, lifting you up in prayer.
May you sense the loving arms of God holding you close to His heart.
All my love,
LInda Joy (George Prosser’s sister)
Greetings to the Kathy, Jay and Bethany,
Just today I received a nice photo of your dad from Bev Beach and a write up of the funeral.
You folks certainly do have my love and prayers. I will miss Marvin; many times we had some long chats. He was always
appreciative of our family and the work of the Christian Salvage Mission. Your mom too was very kind and helpful in this ministry. So now we all must press on without our special friends and loved ones. I think of you often and will continue to pray for you. Ever grateful for all the Dunbars and their love and prayers. Ross & I are sad to hear that you have lost both your parents . We met Darlene & Marvin when they camped at Comfort Plus Campground for a lengthy stay . They were awesome guests & we continued to correspond once they were settled at Briercrest.
We thank you for the lovely letter you sent us: a wonderful tribute to your parents. May all your memories comfort you as you follow in their footsteps. ❤️
