Gino Della-Bianca
Gino Della-Bianca of Moose Jaw, SK passed away on Thursday January 2nd, 2014 at the age of 82 years. Gino was born on May 31st, 1931 in Remanzacco, Udine, Italy. He decided to immigrate to Canada in 1957 and commenced working as a track maintenance worker for the Canadian Pacific Railway in Moose Jaw until he retired in 1993. In 1963, he met Dorothy Reiman (Daniel) at a local dance and they were married the following year, ensuring many years of dancing as a favorite activity for them. Gino was a very active person and enjoyed projects for his house, family and others related to carpentry, cabinet making and masonry. His greatest joy was being outside in their vegetable garden and also fishing on Lovering Lake, he particularly enjoyed telling stories of his fishing adventures and garden harvests. Gino was the only member of his 8 brothers and sisters to immigrate to Canada and he returned to Italy in 1998 to visit his family and cherished the trip as a special time in his life. Gino was predeceased by his family members in Italy, and in Canada by his brothers-in law and sisters-in law: Wesley and Nellie Daniel, Andrew and Annie Lukashenko, Mike and Christina Ambrose, and Mike Daniels. Gino is lovingly remembered by his wife, Dorothy; his sister, Vaniglia and sister-in-law, Bruna in Italy; his sister-in-law, Vera Daniels and brother-in-law, Harry (Doris) Daniels in Moose Jaw; as well as numerous nieces and nephews in Canada and Italy. The Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, January 9th, 2014 at 1:30 p.m. in Moose Jaw Funeral Home. Father Rick Krofchek will officiate and interment will follow in Sunset Cemetery. As an expression of sympathy, donations in Gino’s name may be made to the Saskatchewan Lung Assoc., Box 58000, Saskatoon, SK S7K 7Y4.
