CHARLES EARL DECLARE
December 24th, 1925 – March 8th, 2018
With sadness, the family of Earl Declare announces his passing on Thursday, March 8th, 2018. Earl passed away peacefully from a short illness while being cared for at the Sherbrooke Community Centre in Saskatoon, SK. He was predeceased by his wife, Stella B. Declare; and sisters: Gwen Robertson, Mary McLafferty, and Eileen Thompson. Earl will be lovingly remembered by his children: Jerry (Susan) Declare, Glenda (Ken) McKay, and Kendra Declare; seven grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren; as well as his extended family. Earl was born in the village of Anglia on December 24th, 1925, and was raised and schooled in Herschel, SK. He enlisted in the Canadian Army on November 14th, 1944 and was discharged on April 26th, 1946 at the age of 20 years. Earl married Stella Ferguson on October 24th, 1948 in Moose Jaw, SK. He became a journeyman sheet metal worker and continued working in the trade until his retirement. Earl enjoyed the many times spent with family and friends at his cabin at Buffalo Pound Lake. He loved to socialize with friends and could always be counted on for his Tuesday night meetings. We would like to thank the staff at the Sherbrooke Community Centre, Veterans Village, for the excellent care given to our father for the past four years. The Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, March 24th, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. in Moose Jaw Funeral Home. Dave Foley will officiate and interment will take place in Rosedale Cemetery at a later date. Legion Rites will be conducted by the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #59. In lieu of flowers, donations in Earl’s name may be made to the Salvation Army, 175 – 1st Ave NE, Moose Jaw, SK S6H 0Y9.
