Robert (Bob) Davis
The family of Robert (Bob) Davis sadly announce his passing at Moose Jaw Extendicare, Tuesday February 2, 2010 at the age of 94. Bob was the only child of David and Janet Davis. Bob is survived by his wife of 63 years Aletha (Nouch) Davis; daughters Deanna( Trevor) Arnold of Nipawin, Margaret (Paul) Imrie of Saskatoon, Crystal(Garry) Birkett of Moose Jaw; and son Monty of Moose Jaw; grandchildren Audra, Jeffery, Ryan, Sheena, Cody, Natasha, Nora; and 11 great grandchildren. Bob grew up on the family farm in Riverhurst and left to serve 5 years in the RCAF during WWII, returning to the family farm upon release from service. In 1967 Bob left the family farm and moved to Moose Jaw with his family, opening Davis Real Estate Agency selling real estate and Co-op Insurance. Bob served as past president of the Airforce Assoc., and Legion. He was actively involved in the United Church, Farmers Union, and Real Estate board. He had an active political career serving the Thunder Creek constituency for the CCF. Bob enjoyed the activities of golf, curling, baseball, fishing, playing pool, and especially dancing with his wife Aletha. Bob and Aletha enjoyed 27 winters in Mesa, AZ where they made many great friends. The Funeral Service will be held on Friday, February 12th, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. in Moose Jaw Funeral Home. Pastor Bill Thomson of Trinity United Church will officiate. Legion Rites will be observed by Chuck MacMillian of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #59. The family request, in lieu of flowers that donations be made in memory of Bob to Extendicare, 1151 Coteau St. West, Moose Jaw, Sask. S6H 5G5. We would like to thank the staff at Extendicare for their caring and compassion for our loved one during his short stay, and express our appreciation to Dr. Luhning for his continued care for Bob over the years.
