Raymond B. Daniel
Raymond B. Daniel, aged 86, passed away peacefully at Avonlea Manor on Tuesday, November 13th, 2007 surrounded by his loving family. Ray, eldest son of Paul & Clara Daniel, was born March 13th, 1921 on the family farm near Hearne, Sask. He married Florence Moen in 1942 and they farmed in the Avonlea-Hearne district until 1970 when they moved to Nanaimo, B.C. While living in Nanaimo, Ray became a successful Electrolux salesman and made many new friends. Hunting, fishing, gardening and a good crib game were his favorite pass times. In 1992 Ray and Florence returned to live in Avonlea where they could be closer to their family. Ray was predeceased by his parents and brother, Walter; brothers-in-law, John Miller and Percy Miller; sister-in-law, Nonie Daniel and several brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law from the Moen family. He is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Florence; sons: Paul (Georgina), Avonlea and Don, B.C.; daughters: Dianne (Peter) Park, Sarnia, ON.; Darlene (Gary) Nelson, Avonlea; Doris (Wilfred) Gross, Nanaimo, B.C.; brothers: Henry (Joyce), Carl (Yolanda); sisters: Pauline Miller and Pearl Miller; brother-in-law, Glen (Ollie) Moen and sisters-in-law, Marion Daniel, Agnes Holden and Andrea Kissner; 14 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandson, numerous nieces, nephews and cousins and countless friends. Special thanks to Dr. F. Williams of Regina, home care nurse Georgina Daniel and the staff at Avonlea Manor for the love and special care given to Ray. Funeral Service will be held at Moose Jaw Funeral Home, 268 Mulberry Lane, on Saturday, November 17th, 2007 at 1:00 p.m. Linda Owens will officiate. Interment will take place at Hillcrest Cemetery, Avonlea following the luncheon at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Avonlea Coteau Range Manor, Box 60, Avonlea, SK., S0H 0C0.
