Nellie (Baziuk) Daniel
August 27th, 1923 – February 6th, 2013
It is with sadness, but also with a sense of peace that we announce the passing of Nellie (Baziuk) Daniel. The Funeral Service will be held on Monday, February 11th, 2013 at 10:30 a.m. in Moose Jaw Funeral Home. Father John Bingham will officiate and interment will follow at Rosedale Cemetery. Nellie was born in Manitoba in August 1923. Due to her father’s involvement with the Canadian Pacific Railway, the family moved around to many towns in Saskatchewan, finally to Wheatstone where she met and married Wesley on November 3rd, 1940. Their excursions started with a move to the gold mines in Timmins, Ontario and they later returned to the Saskatchewan coal mines at Pinto in 1942. In 1943 they moved to Moose Jaw for a more lucrative job at Swift Canadian. In 1945 Wesley’s parents decided it was time to retire and with a two year old, Nellie became a farmer’s wife. She considered herself a greenhorn and had the mottos, “If a job you have once begun, never leave it until it’s done” and “Do it right or not at all”. She taught her grandchildren these lessons and learned what came naturally on the farm until 1984, finally retiring to Moose Jaw: “A job well done”. Nellie was predeceased by her parents, her husband of 69 years and her brother. She will be remembered by Ron, Jeannine & family; Leonard, Viola & family; Lianne & Darrell and Hanna & family. In lieu of flowers, donations in Nellie’s name may be made to a charity of one’s choice. Arrangements are entrusted to Moose Jaw Funeral Home, 268 Mulberry Lane. Todd Sjoberg, Funeral Director. 693-4550.
