Esther Lily Daly
Esther Lily Daly passed away on Saturday, November 25, 2023. She was born in Moose Jaw in November of 1926 to Rose and Alex Wilson. Esther attended school at Enterprise just east of the airport, she then attended Newberry School. She was married on October 14, 1946 to Ira Daly and went on to live alongside of Highway 2 for more than seventy years. Ira and Esther had five children, four boys: Stephen, Murray, Herb and Barry and daughter, Monica. Esther worked alongside Ira on the farm, milking cows and running all of the farm machinery…you name it, she did it. Esther is predeceased by her parents, Alex and Rose Wilson; her sister, Kathleen Poole (George); husband, Ira Daly and great grand daughter, Maren Bradford. She is survived by her children, Steve (Chris), Murray, Herbert (Marilyn), Barry (Joyce), Monica (Les), 21 grand children, 38 great grand children, 6 great-great grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews and extended family. A Funeral Service for Esther will be held on Monday, December 4, 2023 at 1:00 p.m. in Moose Jaw Funeral Home. Ron Silvester will officiate and burial will take place in Hillsdale Cemetery. I was sad to read of her passing. She was one exceptional lady. I will always remember those spectacular feasts she put on. You’ll never meet a more humble, honest, Saskatchewan person than her. She had more grit than most women, half her age. My condolence to all her friends and family.
