Edgar Vaughan Dalgarno
March 17th, 1922 – February 12th, 2010
It is with great sadness the family of Edgar Dalgarno announces his passing at the age of 87. He passed away peacefully at the Moose Jaw Union Hospital with his family by his side. Edgar was the youngest of three boys born to Kenneth & Lily Dalgarno. He was predeceased by his parents, brother Sandy and son-in-law Doug McKay. He is survived by his loving wife Olive of 53 years; three children Gaye McKay, Kim (Leanne), Tammy (Mike) Keane; nine grandchildren Dustin (Sara), Lucas, Kasey, Ryan, Christopher, Kyle, Chance, Jackson & Olivia. Also survived by a brother, Lloyd (Joyce), sister in-law, Verna Dalgarno & numerous nephews, nieces, & friends. Edgar grew up on the family farm. He served in the Army during W.W. II and was a member of the Legion, Anavets, as well as a lifetime member of the Elks Club. He married Olive Johns in 1956 & settled on a farm northwest of Moose Jaw, where they raised their family. Edgar will be fondly remembered by all who knew him, for his quick wit & sense of humor. He enjoyed spending time with his children & grandchildren of whom he was so proud. With failing health, he reluctantly left the farm & took up residence in Moose Jaw in 2008. Edgar continued to keep his hand in the farm operation by helping with the 2009 harvest. There will be a private family graveside service.
For those so wishing, donations in memory of Edgar can be made to the Moose Jaw Health Foundation 455 Fairford St. E. Moose Jaw, SK S6H 1H3.
