Wilfred “Wilf” Lewis Crosbie
Wilfred “Wilf” Lewis Crosbie, aged 91 years of Moose Jaw and formerly of the Caron District, SK, passed away at home on Monday, February 9th, 2015. He was predeceased by his parents, Ivan and Edna Crosbie; and sisters, Aileen McGillivray and Valda Eden. Wilf will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his wife of 60 years, Bernice; children: Brenda (Gary Dougherty), Wayne (Brenda), Blaine (Karla) and Neil (B.J.); grandchildren: Jared Dougherty, Regan (Matt Bell), Carrie Morrison, Tara (Angus Jenkins), Shelby Crosbie, Blake Crosbie, Courtney Carter, Graeme (Chloe) Crosbie, Ian (Nicole) Crosbie, Eric Crosbie and Nadine Crosbie; great-grandchildren: Lochlan Jenkins, Kalem Jenkins, Kade Crosbie and Joel Bell; brother, David Crosbie; sisters: Lena Smith, Hazel Cannon and Doris Reid; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Wilf was a long time dairy farmer at Caron, SK. He was deeply devoted to his family and farming, and liked to remind us that he had put up hay in the Mortlach area for over 60 consecutive years. He was a devoted Legion Member for over 70 years, a long time curler and an avid Warrior fan. He will be missed by all who knew him. The Funeral Service will be held on Friday, February 20th, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. in Moose Jaw Funeral Home. Reverend Tim Ellis will officiate and interment will take place in Caron Cemetery at a later date. Legion Rites will be conducted by Sharon Erickson of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #59. As an expression of sympathy, donations in Wilf’s name may be made to The Royal Canadian Legion Branch #59, 268 High St W, Moose Jaw, SK S6H 1S8.
