Esther Emily Craig
Esther Emily aged 95 years, of Saskatoon, Saskatchewan and formerly of Moose Jaw and the Marquis-Tuxford Districts, passed away on Tuesday, February 3rd, 2009 at Sunnyside Adventist Care Centre in Saskatoon, after a lengthy illness. The Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, February 7th, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. in Moose Jaw Funeral Home. Conrad Jantzen will officiate and interment will be in Rosedale Cemetery. Esther was predeceased by her husband Lloyd in 1990, her father Phillip Straub in 1947, her mother Caroline Straub in 1985, son-in-law John Watt, brothers Edward and Charlie, and sister Caroline Minto. She is survived by her son Duane(Sherry-Lynne), daughter Jo-Ann Watt, son Don (Iris), daughter Judith Parker and daughter Janet (Carl) Rettger, 16 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild, sisters Lillian Virtue, Clara Craig, Anne Trower and Vi Whetstone, brother in law and sister in law Nelson and Bette Craig. Esther was born on December 20th, 1913 in Vernon, B.C. As a young child she moved with her family to Hodgeville, then in 1928 the family moved to the Tuxford District. She married Lloyd Craig on September 16, 1937 and they raised their family and farmed in the Marquis area. On retirement they moved first to Tuxford and then to Moose Jaw. A few years after Lloyd’s passing, Esther moved to Saskatoon. We were blessed to have Mom with us for so many years and she will be missed. The family would like to thank Conrad Jantzen for all his support and kindness. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Esther’s name to a charity of one’s choice.
